Make Your Own Additive-Free Miso and Experience the Blessings of Nature in Japan’s Satoyama!

Come make your own safe and delicious traditional additive-free miso (soybean paste) with locally-cultivated soybeans and koshihikari rice malt. The prepared miso will be fermented in the facilities, and 8 months later your own unique, original miso will be ready! Though you will have to wait 8 months to see the results, in the meantime you can take a break and taste miso soup prepared with the miso and vegetables from the workshop! Enjoy making and tasting additive-free miso made with authentic “cold-processing” techniques.

From Chiba Urban Monorail Chishirodai Station, take the Sarashina Bus departing at 9:16 or 12:09 for Sousen Hospital, Route A (総泉病院方面(ルートA)), get off at Yatocho 2 (谷当町2), then walk 1 minute
Elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian. In case of cancellation, you will be notified by 20:00 two days before the event.

Please pay the fees in Japanese yen when you arrive on the day of your reservation.


Q: Can I make a reservation when a plan is already full?
A: Yes, you can. If someone cancels, your reservation will then already be in place.

Q: Are there any cancelation fees?
A: No, there aren’t.However, canceling can greatly inconvenience the other participants, so please refrain from doing so unless it’s really necessary.

Q: Do I get something if I make a reservation?
A: No, we don’t use tickets or anything like that.

Q: Can I pay in advance?
A: No, I’m afraid not. All plans must be paid in cash on site.
